Riding Lessons

Cobboboonee Horse Riding offers a friendly environment to learn and enjoy your experiences with horses. Whether you are a first time beginner or an experience rider you will appreciate the small groups in the lessons that allow for the personal touch.

For those wanting to get out into the bush you will be able to participate in our trail rides through the Cobboboonee Forest or on the beach. We ensure that all our riders are given a safe and enjoyable time with qualified instructors and trail leaders assisting along the way. Cobboboonee Horse Riding caters for nervous beginners to experienced riders, and has a wheelchair mounting ramp for disabled riders.

We have a specialized program during holiday periods aimed at children and families. Offering activities such as ‘Stablehand days’ for a hands on experience with horses, also lesson and trail ride combo’s at a discounted rate, full & half day rides also available.

Horse riding is a great activity anyone can enjoy with picturesque scenery on forest trail rides, an opportunity you wouldn’t want to miss!

Lessons...

Cobboboonee Horse Riding offers lessons in an enclosed 60mx20m sand arena. We have horses & ponies to suit all abilities, from nervous beginners to experienced riders. All lessons have a qualified level 1 instructor assisting riders to achieve their goals & to enjoy their ride to the fullest. Lessons are a great way to improve your current riding skills or start from scratch with the basics, in a safe and controlled environment. We try to make our lessons fun but purposeful doing dressage, show jumping, pole work, games & obstical courses.

Trail Rides...

Cobboboonee Horse Riding offers trail rides through the Cobboboonee National Park & Discovery Bay Coastal Park in Mount Richmond, Vic. A beautiful blackwood forest full of natural flora & fauna. The secluded trails take you away from the hustle & bustle of everyday life, where you may often catch a glimpse of wallabies, echidnas or even wedge-tailed eagles.The coastal rides are only available for full day rides or the camp for group booking or during the holidays & take you through breath taking views over the dunes & open beaches which almost seem untouched.

All rides are led by a qualified trail leader so assistance can be given along the way. Riders with some previous experience can canter along the open trails and beginners or nervous riders can take a more relaxed approach to enjoy the scenery. Rides head out for 1.5hrs, 2hrs, half day,  full days & 2 day camps.

Half Day Rides...

Take a half day ride through the tranquil CobbobooneeNational Park, with morning or afternoon tea supplied. During the colder months traditional billy tea is made by a camp fire. This is a great way to experience horse riding with family or friends.

 Full Day Rides...

Full day rides take place in the Cobboboonee National Park for forest riding or along the Discovery Coastal Park for a beach ride experience. All catering is supplied for lunch and morning and afternoon tea, so bring along your family & friends to enjoy horse riding at its best in one of the most sceanic parts of Victoria.

Stablehand Days...

As part of the Holiday Programs Stable hand days gives on of the best hands on experience you will get with horses. Qualified instructors teach you how to catch, groom, saddle and care for your horse. This is fantastic for kids that can't get enough of horses, or if you are considering buying a horse of your own. We teach you more than just how to ride. A 1hr lesson and 1.5hr trail ride is also included in the stablehand day package.
